Susan Fleming(1947 - 2014)

A resident of Albuquerque, NM, Susan died from pneumonia on February 11, 2014. She is survived by her husband Calvin A. Roberts of Albuquerque, brother Richard Fleming (partner Marlene Giaconia) of Scottsdale,AZ and sister Elizabeth Fleming (partner John Helsloot) of Valley Ford, CA; nieces Rena and Larissa Fleming; stepson David Roberts (wife Alison), stepdaughter Laura Esbe (husband Timothy); and granddaughters Susan Esbe and Tegan Roberts. Susan was born in Chicago, IL October 2, 1947 to Charles Lowe and Martha Greer Flemng. After graduating from Hinsdale Central HS and the University of Wisconsin-- Madison, Susan served as a White House intern and traveled extensively in a presidential campaign. After graduating from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Susan's legal career included positions as a prosecutor for the Cook County State's Attorney and the legal representative for Chicago area hospitals. In 1992, Susan was elected as a State District Court Judge in Chicago. Susan retired from the bench in 2003 to enjoy New Mexico with her husband Cal. Susan had many interests and passions, including travel, gardening, reading and fine arts and crafts. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
