We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Maragos. He was such a wonderful, well-respected man who gave so much of himself to the community. We are sorry that we just found out today about his passing. May God give you strength and comfort during this sad time in your lives and may he live forever in your heart and memories. I am so sorry that you have lost your wonderful partner. I have beautiful memories of both of you and of his participation, General Chairman of the Hellenic Heritage Parade, Master of ceremonies of the Hellenic Interlude Radio Show Anniversay Gala and so many other social events in the Hellenic and American community, as a judge, a senator, a beautiful human bean. So sorry we didn't hear of the passing away of Sam until very late last night. We shall always remember the "good old days" we shared at the Hegewisch church -- its choir, youth clubs, dances, etc. We join the many who are chanting "May his memory be eternal." Judge Maragos was an incredible man and has left an enviable legacy including a wonderful family. He was incredibly proud (and deservedly so) of Cleo, their four sons and all their grandchildren. His superior intellect and integrity were an inspiration to anyone that had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be eternal.

Dear Cleo and Family: I knew Sam for 34 years, from when he was a state representative and I was a House staff member. We became good friends, and he was delighted that I joined the JMLS faculty four years later. He always worked hard for his constituents, for the people of Illinois, for John Marshall, and for the Greek community. He was always supportive of my work on behalf of the Armenian community, including my cooperation with AHEPA.
I know he had been ill for some time, but we shall all miss him.
