Bernice Lorenz Obituary
Bernice Evelyn Lorenz, age 80, passed away suddenly on December 1, 2017 at her home in Trevor, WI. Bernice was born on August 17, 1937 in St. Louis, MO as the only child to the late Bernice and Hudson Bruewer. Bernice met Lester Lorenz at Central University in Fayette, MO where they were students. After Lester's graduation, the couple were married on March 23, 1957 in the chapel of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. Bernice was his loving soulmate as they proceeded initially through life at seminary, then Lester's employment in the printing business, which culminated in being an active partner in their own printing firm in Evanston, IL for 48 years. Bernice and Lester retired to Trevor, WI, where they have lived for the past ten years. As a beloved and devoted wife and mother, Bernice is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lester and their three children: Marilyn, Susan, and Brian (Lynn); grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob Bohn, and Jessica (Ryan) Springer; and great-grandson, Finnley Springer. Marilyn and Susan remain in the northern Illinois area. Brian and Lynn's family reside in Frisco, TX. Bernice's love and concern for her family was consummate. She was a guiding light at all times, and the greatest supporter during dark ones. Retirement interests included birdwatching, word puzzles and reading Dan Brown novels. Visitation will be held from 6-7PM Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Funeral services will commence at 7PM Wednesday. INFO 847-395-4000. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch, IL, at a later date. Please sign our online guestbook for Bernice at www.strangfh.com
