I had the great privilege of working with Betty Lou Reed for many years while she was the Exec. Assistant to Congressman John Porter and I served as his Press Secretary. She was a wonderful, kind, and incredibly generous person who taught me a great deal about the gentle art of politics (as practiced by her, anyway) and governance. What a class act! She served our state and the people of the 10th Congressional District with great distinction and will long be remembered as one of Illinois most thoughtful public servants. May God bless her and her family -- we miss you more than words can convey, Betty Lou!
