We share your loss. It was a warm happy feeling to look out and see Bruce across the street with a smile and a wave. He was always ready to help and had the tools and ideas too. I hope he is looking down on the garden, because he would have loved to talk about how his and ours are growing. We are so sorry. We miss him so much.

Bruce will very much be missed. He was always so welcoming to us as kids at their house. The more the merrier for Bruce and their whole family. He was always up for some bocce ball and hanging out with a baby raccoon that he had rescued. Anyone that grew up or lived in Glencoe knew and loved Bruce.

Bruce was a wonderful person who never had a bad word for anyone and was always willing to help someone any way he could. The world lost a great soul but I know he's in Heaven looking down and smiling on us and waiting for us to get up there and share more stories about our times together.

This little part of the world is going to miss Bruce greatly. My mother knew him growing up, my grandfather used to love giving and receiving good natured barbs every time they saw each other.

During my time as a kid and all the way through my the years as Golf Club Manager at the Glencoe Golf Club, hearing SCOTT! in that wonderful voice, always put a smile on my face. When he yelled my name I knew laughter was on its way. Bruce would do anything to help people. What an incredible spirit.

Bruce, your swing looks great, remember to hit them straight and infrequently, you have all the time you want for golf now.

Bruce you will be missed by all but you have left us with uplifting, always fun and happy memories. As a major part of the Glencoe Movie Theater family, which I happily reunioned with last Fall, you kept us in stitches and forged forever friendships. Im grateful for the reconnection and know that you and my sister Betsy are having some good laughs Up There. Love and condolences to your family.

What a great guy to have worked with in my many years at the Glencoe Village Hall. In my role as Building and Zoning Director Bruce and I traded notes in a true departmental cooperative spirit with the Public Safety Department. He was always conscientious, honest, and forthright in his dealings with me and others. The Village environment really felt like we lived and worked in a community which had the Mayberry Andy Griffith/Barney Fife friendly spirit. Bruce was truly seen as "Officer Friendly" by the many children he helped cross streets near Glencoe schools. Although I lost contact with Bruce after his retirement, I often thought fondly of my many years seeing him with his smiling demeanor. My sincerest condolences to his wife, Patricia, and their family.

Dad, I miss you so very much! I can't stop crying... and then i know you would say "Sarah! What's wrong with you?" in your own tone of voice. A voice that I only wish to hear again. You made my life so very special. You are the best dad a daughter could ever ask for. I am so proud to say you are my dad and I know how much you love us. Dad, you make us all smile and laugh. Especially your "Bruceisams". You have always kept us humble and kind. You truly had no agenda or a mean bone in your body. I truly aspire to follow in your footsteps and just exude kindness. I will make you proud! I Love You Dad!

I am very, very saddened to learn of Bruce's passing. As former Glencoe Village Manager I found Bruce to be emblematic not only of the true meaning of a Public Safety Department but also of the entire concept and purpose of public service as a whole. Bruce always was there to help in any way he could, no matter what the challenge was, and he never, ever had himself as the first or top priority.
Having just lost my wife Marie last month, I am all too well aware of the loss that Bruce's family is feeling right now. And I extend my heartfelt condolences to all the family members. Bruce was a good man- the kindest, most caring and helpful possible- a man who the family can be very proud of. I am grateful for having had the honor and pleasure of working with Bruce, and I extend to his family my thanks for sharing him with the Village of Glencoe for so many years.
