Charles Heimerdinger Obituary

Heimerdinger, Charles Case 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, in Carson City, Nevada. He was born on July 19th, 1931 to Arthur and Aileen Heimerdinger in Chicago, IL. He spent his early life in Highland Park, IL. Later he settled in the west where he resided until his death. He graduated from Highland Park High School where he excelled in athletics including football, swimming and softball. He earned several degrees from various universities including a Phd in History of Theater. He served two years in the US Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant and was stationed in Germany. Charley was a devoted husband, father, brother, teacher and good friend. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially liked spending time with his family, winning at the casinos, enjoying movies, theater, playing the harmonica and going to the races! Charley is preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents; maternal grandparents, John F. and Margaret Case and numerous extended family members. Survivors include his sister, Judy Heimerdinger Sloan (James) of Rochester, MN; children, Charles Heimerdinger (Sheri) of Reno, NV, Christopher Heimerdinger (Emily) of Draper, UT and Carlyn Blake (John) of Boise ID; 10 grandchildren, Steven, Cody, Shane, Ammon, Savannah, Sariah, Thomas, Lia, Angelina, and Hunter; niece, Jennifer Sloan Lattis (Jim) and two nephews, John Sloan and Jeffrey Sloan (Liz). Friends can write Charley's sister, Judy H. Sloan, at 722 N. Heights Drive NE, Rochester, MN for further information. There was a memorial service at Fitzhenry's Mortuary in Carson City, NV on Sunday, December 2nd 2012. If desired, a memorial gift may be made in Charley's memory to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.
