Donelda "Donna" E. Kelly, nee Hocking, 84, of Northbrook, passed away on September 28, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was the daughter of Frederick and Mabel Hocking, nee Harrison. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Kelly of Northbrook, her sister Ramona Lundahl, nee Hocking, her son Joseph Kelly, her grandchildren Cameron and Campbell, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born on December 2, 1932 in Timmins, Ontario. She immigrated to Northbrook on June 5, 1948 with her brother Fred Jr., and sisters Barbara, Ramona, and Joan. She graduated from Northbrook High School and went on to work as a nurse for Dr. Morley McNeal in Highland Park, and later as a book keeper for Smith's Auto and Fullerton Metals in Northbrook. She was married on June 14, 1968 to Ronald M. Kelly, and enjoyed memberships in the Friendship Bowling League and Northbrook Camping Club. Her greatest gift was to nurture those around her, and her happiness persisted until the end. Few could know a more loving person. She was a Cub Scout Den leader, our family's soccer goalie, nurse, seamstress, accountant, gardener, teacher, chef, landscaper, baby sitter, and artist who set impossibly high standards of patience and kindness. Services will be private. Arrangements entrusted to the Cremation Society of Illinois.
