Helen J. Mullin of Northbrook, IL, beloved wife of Ray C. Mullin for 67 years, passed away November 8, 2017. Helen was born in Sheboygan, WI June 9, 1928 to Frank and Helen Giesman Hicks. Helen graduated from North High School where she was active in the choir and directed a number of school plays. She was a member of the National Honor Society and attended the University of Wisconsin. Helen married Ray Mullin on June 10, 1950. They were married at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Helen's life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family was her primary interest and top priority. She loved visiting them and having them come to visit her. Helen was always active in her church, volunteered as Assistant Librarian, served on various committees, and was involved in many other activities at the schools her children attended. She also was a Girl Scout leader. Helen was an avid book reader, had a talent for sewing, and was a tremendous cook. She was an excellent and busy homemaker. Helen is survived by her husband Ray and 4 children: Mary (Brian) McMahan, John (Patricia) Mullin, James (Barbara) Mullin, and Jane (Robert) Boiko, as well as brothers James Hicks and Thomas Hicks. She has 8 wonderful grandchildren: David (Keely) McMahan, Jennifer (Mathew) Lenke, Jonathan (Meaghan) McMahan, Susan (Matthew) Moudry, Michael (Nadia) Mullin, Sarah (Patrick) O' Bryan, Christopher (Samantha) Mullin, Elizabeth (Jacob) Zetley. Her 14 fabulous great grandchildren: Emily McMahan; Kaitlyn and Kendall Lenke; Emma, Claire, and Hollis McMahan; Caleb and Aurora Mullin; Elizabeth and William Moudry; Brayden, Kaylee, and Blake O' Bryan; Avi Zetley. She is preceded in death by her brother Donald Hicks. Visitation Monday Nov. 13, 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass 10:30 a.m. at St. Norbert Church,1809 Walters Avenue, Northbrook, IL 60062.
