James Bernard Pinski (J.B.) was born in New Orleans, LA on October 31, 1934. Formerly of Chicago, IL and Longboat Key, FL, J.B. passed away peacefully in Kankakee, IL with his loving family at his side on December 30, 2017. Beloved husband of Dee, loving father of Kevin (Kim), David, Michael (Michelle). Giving grandfather of Jacob, Morgan, Maxwell, Sophia, Mya, Ava, and Ian Pinski, great grandfather of Knox Douglas Wilson. Devoted brother of Ronald (Marcia), uncle to Robin (Ross) Steiner, Mark Pinski, and Amy Pinski. Great uncle to Erica Steiner. Cherished son to departed parents Max and Vera Pinski. J.B. graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Sullivan High School in Chicago and the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity, Phi Beta Kappa Society, Bronze Tablet, Omega Beta Pi Society. At the University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago, he was a member of the Phi Delta Epsilon, Pi Kappa Epsilon, and Alpha Omega Alpha Society. Served in the United States Army as Chief of Dermatology in Heidleberg, Germany. He was Associate Clinical Professor at Northwestern Hospital. Practiced Dermatology in Chicago, Kankakee, and Florida for over fifty years specializing in hair transplantation and cosmetic procedures. He taught dermatologic surgeons hair transplantation techniques for over 30 years. Dr. Pinski has been a featured speaker at National and Worldwide Dermatology conferences. He authored over 30 articles, text book chapters, and texts. He was involved in the development of filler substances such as collagen and other therapeutics techniques. He presented lectures to physicians around the world. Dr. Pinski was voted "One of the Best Doctors in Chicago" numerous times and "Best Doctor" in Chicago Magazine and in America. Dr. Pinski was a member of the Chicago Dermatological Society, Noah Worcester Dermatological Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, International Society for Dermatologic Surgery, International Society of Tropical Dermatology, American Medical Association, Chicago Medical Society. He served on numerous boards and had many honors such as, Fellow- International College of Surgeons, International Societies of Cosmetic Surgery, Fellow- The Royal Society of Medicine (London, England), Fellow- American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Fellow- American College of Physicians. J.B. had a love of family and traveled extensively. In retirement, he played golf, enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved life. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais Chapel.
