Jeff Winkless Obituary

Jeff Alan Winkless, aka Jeffrey Brock, SAG/AFTRA/ASCAP, died in Evanston, Illinois, June 26, 2006, of a malignant brain tumor. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1941, Jeff becaem a familiar working hand in the entertainment business and was a longtime voice-over and character voice talent in Los Angeles and Chicago. He was the voice of the French Fries in the McDonald's Happy Meal commercials for many years. He reworked and voiced cartoons for Saban and other animation houses. Among his on-camera roles, he was the clerk who checked Edward G. Robinson into the recycling establishment in Soylent Green and played Fleagle in the Banana Splits Adventure Hour. He co-wrote, with his dad, the music for the long-running Snap, Crackle and Pop jingle and in later years, composed and produced scores for such films as Not of This Earth, Corporate Affairs and Scene of the Crime. Jeff is survived by his wife, Rayonelle Baldwin and his three brothers. Memorial donations may be sent to The Kellogg Cancer Care Center of Evanston Hospital, or the Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center in Glenview.
