Joan T. Cook, 89, of Lake Forest, IL peacefully passed away in her sleep on March 6, 2018. Daughter to the late Harold and Irma Tallett, Joan was born on July 11, 1928 in Waukegan, IL. Sister to the late Jack Tallett, preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Granger Cook, Jr., Joan is survived by her five children, Granger "Tres" III (Mary Ellen) of Salem, WI, Joanne (Kevin) Miller of Lake Forest, Bryan (Patricia) of Medina, TX, Suzanne (Brett) Moore of Lake Forest, Graham (Beth) of Lake Forest, Nieces Judy Tallett, Tricia (Bob) Stromsted, Pamela (Patrick) Franssen, Janet (Kevin Collins) Tallett, Karen (Michael) Lindley and nephew Kevin (Dee) Cook. Joan was loved and adored by her fifteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Joan received a degree in Education from The University of Arizona and a Masters degree in Speech Therapy from Northwestern University. While raising her five children, she volunteered on the Lake Forest School Board District 67 and a variety of local charities. Colorful in both wardrobe and sense of humor, Joan filled the lives of her friends and loved ones with laughter and love. She is remembered for the unconditional love she shared with everyone she touched and will continue to be a source of light and love as we hold her forever in our hearts. She will be deeply missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 2:00 PM at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 400 East Westminster Avenue, Lake Forest, IL. Inurnment private.
