I was blessed to have Joel as my best friend during our college years and after until his relocation to Florida. Like a shooting star that entered my life, Joel, you are always in my thoughtswith the great memories we shared and I miss you so much. Bodybuilding brought our friendship together but your kindness and personality made it grow. The times we shared at ISU and after have and will never be forgotten. Whenever I see Arnold, I think of you and your big smile and laugh. I can still hear and see it clearly in my memory. God blessed you with so much in your short time here and you realized and maximized the gifts He gave to you. My mother only met you once and she never forgot you. The tears I have are bittersweet. Loved you like a brother. Hard to believe but you had a heart as big or bigger than you. Until we meet again.

We just learned of Joel's passing and my entire Family including Marcia (My Mom), Joe, Ed, and Mike (my brothers) want to pass on condolences.
