Mary Ann Buban Obituary
Mary Ann Buban, 75, of Batavia, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 18, 1942 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Francis J. and Margaret E. (nee. O'Connor) Hogan. Mary Ann attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine Grade School and graduated from Lourdes High School. Upon graduation, she had a career as a secretary for, among others, the FBI, Keeco, Howard A. McKee and GATX. Outside of work, when she wasn't too busy corralling six boisterous children, Mary Ann enjoyed learning (about everything), reading, going to the theater, and listening to music (classical along with Neil, Roy, Elvis, Simon & Garfunkel). But mostly, she enjoyed praying and expanding upon her faith. She selflessly devoted much of her time volunteering for the church and other organizations. She made do with less so others could have more. Mary Ann was modest, compassionate, charitable and loving. There will be no waiting outside the pearly gates. Her wings were ready for pickup many years ago. Mary Ann is survived by her six children; Michael Buban, Mark Buban, Jennifer Buban, Janet (William) De La Fuente, Daniel Buban, and David Buban, two grandchildren; Sydney and Avery De La Fuente and three brothers; Thomas E. (Diane) Hogan, Michael J. (Helen) Hogan, William W. Hogan. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James M. Hogan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL 60510. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 4, 2018,with prayers at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 Main St., Batavia, IL 60510. Interment will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
