Michael Reidy Obituary
Michael John Reidy, 90, died peacefully in his home September 26th. Son of Henry & Agnes (O'Halloran) Reidy, beloved father of Michael (Trish), Pamela, Kerry (Rob), Matthew (Tammy), and Sean (Vicki). Beloved Grandfather of Keegan, Krysta, Alexandria, Garrett, Cameron, Blake, Morgan, Ava, Noah, and Lennon, and Evan and Ella who he will be happily playing with in heaven. Born and raised in Shanagolden, Ireland, he came to Chicago in 1949. He served for 2 years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 44th Engineers division. He worked most of his life as a journeyman plumber and helped build many structures in the Chicago area including the new Comiskey Park, the new Arlington Park Race Track, many hospitals and other buildings. In keeping with his Irish roots, music was a necessity in his life. He will always be remembered sitting by his radio singing and whistling to the music and on special occasions, playing his harmonica for us. An avid Blackhawks fan and a man of great charity, he cared deeply for his children, grandchildren and family. He leaves us with so many cherished memories and stories; in those he will live on and be forever in our hearts. Visitation from 3-7 pm on Sunday at Michael's Funeral Home 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. Memorial service at St. Marcelline Catholic Church in Schaumburg at 10:00am Tuesday, 10/3. In lieu of flowers, gifts to the (heart.org) are appreciated.
