Richard L. Cosentino Obituary
Richard L. Cosentino, 83, of Chicago, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Richard was born on August 17, 1934 in Chicago; the son of the late Michael and Concetta (Pistilli) Cosentino. He was a graduate of Harrison High School and Loyola University. Richard proudly served our country in the Army 1957 – 1959 and then he served his city as a Chicago police officer for the next 44 years. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Mary (McCabe) Cosentino, his children Kevin (Sue) Cosentino of St. Louis, Yvonne (Brian) Wayda of Petersburg, Eileen (John) McHugh of Chicago, Dawn Cosentino of DeKalb, Marilyn (Ken) Harris of Chicago, Mary Cosentino of DeKalb, his grandchildren: Olivia, George, Jacob, Jack, Kate, Mike, Ryan, Blake, Devlin, and Stella, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his brother Anthony Cosentino M.D. Cremation rites for Richard were accorded by Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield at a later date; also a memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica, Chicago, at a later date. Those who wish may leave memorials in Richard's name to PAWS Animal Shelter or to Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica.
