RICHARD HOFER Obituary
Richard R. Hofer, August 26, 2010, age 69, in Chicago formerly of Milwaukee. Beloved son of the late Martin and the late Ann Hofer. Survived by a god-daughter; cousins; other relatives; and many friends in the "railfan community." Richard was a proud Navy veteran and a retiree of the Soo Line and Rock Island Railroads. He was a charter member of T.W.E.R.H.S., the E.R.A. and a longtime member and volunteer of C.E.R.A. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Raasch-Raetz Funeral Home, 7709 W. Burleigh St., Milwaukee. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 2530 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee (please meet at Church). Interment will immediately follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery with full Military Honors. Memorials to your choice appreciated. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

I've had the pleasure to know Dick for almost 40 years. In addition to being our Secretary/Treasurer (TWERHS), we went to programs, railroadiania shows and on many rail trips together. He always had a pleasent personality and was one of the first to volunteer for work.
He was truely, one of the nice guys.

Richard was a great and long time friend to the Zera family. We had him down to Houston for many visits over the years. We along with our children treasure the time we spent with him. We will most certainly miss his presence this Christmas and for years to come. But we know that he now rests in the arms of our Lord Jesus. - Martin, Dana, Taylor, Hailee, Kaitlyn, Andrew and Betty
