Ronald M. Kelly, 76, of Northbrook passed away on February 2 due to complications from diabetes. He was the son of Sgt. Joseph and Jeanette Santeler, nee Trapp, born on June 19, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a life-long member of the Ironworker's Local 473, and worked as a welder and fabricator for Great Lakes Structural Steel of Northbrook and Arlington Structural Steel of Arlington Heights. He was married on June 14, 1968 to Donelda 'Donna' E. Kelly, and enjoyed memberships in the Friendship Bowling League and Northbrook Camping Club. He was a good and dedicated man who would do anything to help and protect his friends and family. He had a gift for storytelling and could throw an unhittable knuckleball, finding great joy in his retirement in watching over his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Donna, and is survived his sisters Barbara Sinnett, nee Santeler, and Sharon Santeler, his son Joseph Kelly, his grandchildren Cameron and Campbell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Final affairs are being handled by the Cremation Society of Illinois. Services will be private. The family asks for your kind thoughts.
