Wayne Gripman Obituary
Wayne R. Gripman, 76, of Lincolnwood, IL, entered into eternal life on December 27, 2017. Husband of Deosing (nee Larita), loving father of David (Laura), Scott (Joelle), and Nicole (Montel). Loving and proud Grandfather of Nicholas, David, Breeana, Kamryn, Dylan, Mason, Scott Ray Jr., Alexander, and Sophia. Son of the late Von and Marjorie, and brother of the late Richard (Lorraine), late Joyce (William), Dale (Vena), and Floyd (Sally). Dear Uncle and friend to many. Wayne was born in Coldwater, Michigan, attended Quincy High School and then Western Michigan University. He moved to Chicago where he joined the Chicago Police Department and within the first 6 months while on a service call he met the love of his life, Deosing. Also, while a policeman, Wayne became a real estate investor which eventually allowed him to retire from the police department to manage his own properties. Wayne raised his family in the Logan Square area from the 70s to the mid-80s and then moved his family to Lincolnwood, IL, where he raised his 3 children to adulthood. In the mid-90s Wayne re-discovered his faith and became very active again in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints including being a regular temple worker for 18 years. Wayne was a very good man, an overly hard worker, well-mannered, generous and fair. He valued honesty, integrity and his family. He lived a great life of purpose and deep faith. He will be sorely missed by his family and by all who knew him. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 3pm until time of service at 7pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago, IL 60646. Internment private. Info 773-736-3833 or visit Wayne's memorial at www.smithcorcoran.com <http://www.smithcorcoran.com>
