Alice Lundgren, nee Kolski, died on March 25, at the age of 88. She was born November 14, 1922 in Chicago, and was the daughter of Theodore and Cecelia Kolski. Alice was a professional baseball player in the National Girls Baseball League and was voted League MVP in 1944. After many years in baseball, she worked for the US Post Office and retired after 17 years. She is a long time member and former usher at St. Thomas More Church in Elgin. Alice is survived by a daughter Patricia (Allen) Frank; son James (Gail) Lundgren; four grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces; she is preceded in death by husband Eric Lundgren; three brothers, Edmund, Alvin, and Edwin; and three sisters, Martha, Olga and Wanda. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 29th at Laird FuneralHome, 310 S State St. (Rt. 31), in Elgin. There will also be visitation starting at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Dr., Elgin, followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, in West Dundee.
