Lorna Donley Obituary
Lorna Donley, 53, librarian, former singer, bassist and lyricist with "DA!," (a post-punk band that performed at Exit, Oz and numerous music clubs, 1978-82), died in Chicago on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013. "DA!" made several recordings of note including "Dark Rooms"/"White Castles," and "Time Will Be Kind." She earned a M.A. in Library Science from Dominican University in 2004, and became a Librarian at Chicago Public Library's Harold Washington Library Center. Lorna was an avid reader of history and she loved her cats. She found beauty in the world around her. Survived by husband, Scott Taves; sister, Kate Donley, of Burlington, Vt.; brother, August Donley, and father, Thomas Donley, both of Chicago; and close family friend, Dick Simpson.
