Michael Bruno Obituary
Michael J. Bruno, a giant to his family and a legend in his field, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2017, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Gloria (née DiOrio). Adored father of Michele (Steven) Ruth, Richard, Lois (Joseph) Gillengerten, Lauren (Robert) Pullano, and Ronald. Wonderful role model to his grandchildren Gia (Michael) Broderick, Daniel Ruth, Gregory (Lindsay) Ruth, Jeremy Ruth, and Nicholas Pullano. Cherished great grandfather to Isabella and Ava Broderick, Vincent, Vivienne, and Luca Ruth. Proud son of the late Luigi and Rachela Bruno and devoted grandson of the late Constantino and Domenica Chiappetta. Fond brother of Frank (Anita) the late Dan and the late Tony (the late Barbara). Loving brother-in-law of Lucy Freda and Ann Graff. Mike so loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews, and enjoyed all his wonderful memories of good times with his cousins and many friends. Michael Bruno served countless numbers of families over his 70 year career as a funeral director. He worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail was attended to for each family. Because he had such a long and full career, his involvement in the funeral industry spanned many pivotal moments in Chicago's history. He was a driving force in numerous organizations, a faithful member of the Jim's Butterhill Grill/Mr. G's/JK's morning coffee group, avid golfer, world traveler with his beloved Gloria, unofficial promotor of Paul Masson, Parodi cigars, Samuel Adams beer, and the correct way to make a Manhattan. He could frequently be seen meeting and conversing with his neighbors while sitting on the Rock. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at Divine Infant Church, 1601 Newcastle Ave., Westchester. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Divine Infant, Divine Providence, and St. Domitilla Churches appreciated. For the very last time, Michael J. Bruno, Funeral Director, proudly assisted by Conboy-Westchester and Steuerle Funeral Homes. For info 708-562-5900
