Fran was my mother's best friend, Anne Sugrue, in College at Mundelein (no absorbed into Loyola) on Chicago's North Shore. I am interested in anybody who can tell me about their time together, and Fran's life after college. Did she ever marry? Did she ever have kids? I wish there was an obituary that told her story.
IS THERE A PHOTO OF HER FROM ANY YEAR?
Thank you.

Miss P was my 8th grade science and homeroom teacher and liaison to student council the year I served as president. She was warm and wise and kept things light during times filled with early teen tensions. Rest In Peace.

So sorry for your loss. Miss P. meant so much to me. I played basetball and softball. She coached me in both sports. I went on to coach at Olph and later on teach Junior High Science. She was truly a mentor. I reall miss her.

I am sorry for your loss, but Miss Pappalardo did inspire her 7th grade students at OLPH (1968). She had a sense of humor that made all the little boys fall in love with her, and when her eyes flashed a certain way you knew it was time to sit down, straighten up, be quiet and do the homework. When she wasn't there, well feel sorry for the substitute teacher, then envision the sight of all those pencils stuck in the acoustic ceiling. Who wouldn't remember her light hearted ability to gain our attention by testing the coefficient of friction between her long nails and the chalkboard. Who wouldn't remember her support of Sister Paul Ann and Sister Carol, as she herded us reprobates to and from the church, in hopes of saving some of us.
By the time we were in college and returning to the OLPH Palladium to play volleyball and floor hockey, Miss Pappalardo allowed us to call her Fran, as if we were actual adults, then would fire off a wicked spike. A right of passage.
Fran Pappalardo was and is memorable. She is missed, but in the hearts of the OLPH Class of 1969.

Miss P taught science to me in sixth grade. I have a clear and wonderful memory of her coming up behind me as I was raving about my new 'elephant bell bottoms' when I should have been working. She said, "I like them too!" and moved on. She endeared herself to me from that moment on! She certainly will live in my memory and my heart. Please accept my condolences.

What a lovely woman and fantastic teacher she was. Fran taught me at OLPH and helped us plan our 40 year reunion in 2012. It was wonderful to get to know her again through the planning and to celebrate with her at the reunion. She had a big impact on a lot of young lives and will be missed. She and her family will be in my prayers.
