The true joy Ann brought to all the neighbors in Ritchie Court can never be replaced. I still try do do a mini version of her Stretch and Balance routine a few times a week and thus think of her often. A true friend that can never be replaced.

Today, on Saint Patrick's Day, many remembrances of Anne Carney are in my heart. The news of her passing came late to me and it is shocking still.
Back in 1969, my college social studies teacher brought our class to the Denoyer Geppert map and globe company where Anne Carney gave us a fascinating tour. As we were leaving, I asked if there were any summer typing jobs. Anne hired me and soon our friendship began. That was the summer of WOODSTOCK. Anne and her friends rode to the festival in a funeral hearse. I couldn't wait til she returned with first hand knowledge. Anne drove a pink motorcycle. Sometimes she gave me a ride home on the back. Those were the days......
Anne's positive energy and immense generosity were gifts shared with many. It was a joy to see her at classical music concerts. Our breakfasts over the years were always delightful. Anne had a great sense of humor but the laughter was never at anyone's expense. She was resourceful and connected people with great enthusiasm.
Every year, during this time, I'd find something greenish for her birthday greeting and honoring the Irish. This year feels incomplete.
In the Greek Orthodox Church of my heritage, the memorial prayer sung is Eoneeah ee mneemee (May her memory be eternal.)
Anne Carney will never be forgotten. She is in the memory of all the lives she enhanced.

My dear friendwe walked and ran many miles together in 5Ks, 10Ks, half and full marathons over the years and Anne never failed to keep the journey lively and interesting. I thought she was eternal and am shocked at her sudden passing. I will miss her every day.

So shocked to hear of Anne's passing--- so active and full of life. She is missed. As extended family members there is a definite emptiness.

I worked for her, and later in other situations when I was complimented on something I did, there was no other answer than, "Everything I know I learned from Anne Carney", one of the brightest most sparkling people I have ever known.

Miss a true friend who made every day brighter and brought people together whether that be at parties, as an instructor in her Stretch and Balance routines by the pool, or as a competitive runner. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and was full of energy and joy.

A light has gone out at Banyan Trace! Anne will be missed by everyone who knew her. The news has been shocking and yet, it is comforting to know that Anne will be leading the stretch and balance class in Heaven. My sincere condolence to her family and friends.
