Walter Pilditch Obituary
Walter Edward Pilditch 86, died peacefully after a short illness on Dec. 24, 2017. Son of the late Howard and Edith (nee Boisselier) Pilditch. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Howard). Loving father of Ruth (Jim) Lang, Kenneth (Sally) Gach and Matthew (Kimm) Pilditch. Dear grandfather of Lauren (Dan) Chrul, Jessica Gach, Faith, Sarah and Luke Pilditch. Brother of Albert (Bonnie) Pilditch, Dorothy (the late Robert) Novak and Anita (the late Paul) Kobierski. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Walter lived his whole life in the Beverly neighborhood and was a faithful member of St. Paul's Bible Church serving as an Elder, Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club, Kiwanis Club and The Beverly Hills University Club. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 608 and served as Scoutmaster for many years. For his service and involvement throughout his life, he was awarded the honor of the Silver Beaver several years ago. Professionally, Walter was an educator for over 50 years as a Teacher and Principal. After his retirement he served on local school councils, was a mentor to others and was recently re-elected to his position on the Retired Teacher's Pension Board. A Celebration of Walter's life will be held at St. Paul's Bible Church 1960 West 94th. St. Chicago on Thursday January 4th. beginning with Fellowship at 10:30a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Bible Church Memorial Fund.
