Cici Adam will be missed by all--music lovers, people of the arts but I for one will miss his wonderful humor that he gave to all.

I remember the Club Selo nights when Chichi Adam entertained all with his wonderful renditions.

I guess being older does have its benefits--I knew him longer.

Love you pal.

Adam Popovich was truly a great inspriration and friend to our S.S.S. Mita Topalovich Choir in Joliet, IL. Even with the small amount of people our choir is made up of, everytime he would be at a concert or festival we were singing at, he would always have a nice compliment to say about us. Those positive compliments are what makes our choir still sing today. Thank you much, Adam, for all your many contributions in our Serbian culture and heritage! You will be so very missed by us all!

Adam was truly a great person with many God given talents and a wonderful Serb. I'll never forget the first time I directed at an SSF Festival. I was very nervous, both before and after our performance. I wondered how we would do and then afterwards, how did we sound. To say that I was ancy, was an understatement. Adam approached me and said "Nice job, young lady" and it meant the world to me. Thanks Adam for your words of encouragement :-) I'm sure Adam is in heaven directing a choir of angels. Vjecna mu pamjat i Bog da mu dusu prosti.

Adam's loss is so deeply felt by all of us. He was such a great influence on our lives. He meant different things to many different people, but, for me, Adam taught heritage, history, and culture through music. He was the essence of Serbian. I will carry some of what I learned from him to the next generation. It will keep his spirit alive forever.

Adam was not only a musical genious but was an inspiration to me when I joined the choir at the age of fifteen. I'll always remember times when we would be on stage performing and he would look at me and give me a little wink. Many times you would get up on stage and give it everything you had for the simple reason that you didn't want to let Adam down. Everyone who knew Adam will agree that there will NEVER be another Adam Popovich.

My condolences go out to all of his family and friends.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the extended Popovich family. We wanted to share one of our memories of Adam with all of you. This dates back to our 1982 Sloboda trip to California. As you are all aware, Adam never let Sloboda take music books on stage - well our dad (Rade) could not remember the words to Tamo Daleko so he decided to take his music on stage. After the concert, Adam, in his very professional way, reminded our Dad that he will NEVER carry his music on stage again. From that point on, my Dad always made sure to stand behind Bob Pritza when he was on stage so that Adam could not see him holding his music. We will all think of you, Adam, the next time our Dad sings with Sloboda!

In the July St. Archangel MIchael Church bulletin, the last page hit home for me regarding Adam. The title of the poem is How Do You Live Your Dash by Linda Ellis 1997,1998,1999. Adam certainly knew how to live his dash, and it was shown in the outpouring of love from those who attended his Pomen and Funeral. I will truly miss him and all the fun we had in Sloboda Choir under his artful direction. The Alto section was really his favorite. Memory Eternal to a kind, brilliant, and wonderful man.

What a wonderful self taught man with a multitude of God given talents which he shared with all who knew him. We who grew up in So Chicago were truly blessed with his presents during our growing up years. A super person we all loved and respected . The effect he and his talented brothers had on all of us will never be forgotten. Jokie & Dorothy

We have lost a true legend. This man inspired hundreds & hundreds & hundreds of people. I happened to be in my home town of Chicago (because of 2 family weddings) when he passed & was able to attend his wake & funeral, but I would've flown in from LA anyway. I will greatly miss how much Adam respected me (he was so appreciative that I'd fly in every February just to sing in Sloboda's Barndance). His frequent compliments towards my singing will go down in my personal history as one of my greatest achievements. Adam was God to me. I will miss him so much! My thoughts & prayers go out to his entire family!

There was no greater influence, no greater inspiration and no better friend. The void he leaves in our lives cannot be filled, but the music and the memories linger on and the legacy continues in the hearts of those many who were so profoundly influenced by his glorious life. Thanks for sharing so much of yourself with so many for so long and for the everlasting gift you have left.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Adam's death. I have felt even worse for not being able to make it to his funeral. But due to being in summer school in Pittsburgh, I could not attend it. My heart reaches out to Adam's family and especially his grandchidren on their loss. I am deeply sorry that I could not attend his funeral, I felt I at least owed him that. And I apologize to his family for not being there. I will definitely miss him and miss seeing him at functions down at the hall. I only wish that I had the opportunity to sing under his direction in Sloboda. I'll miss you Adam!

On behalf of my family, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Popovich family. Cici Adam was an inspiration to each and every Serb on this continent. He shall always be remembered in our hearts as a gentle, loving soul, with strong convictions. We can already hear his heavenly musical arrangements.

THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE IMMENSE VOID THAT IS FELT IN THE HEARTS OF THOSE WHO KNEW AND LOVED HIM. HOWEVER, AS WE DREW FROM HIM DURING HIS LIFE WE TAKE ALL HE HAS GIVEN WITH US THROUGHOUT THE REST OF OUR LIVES. WE ARE ALL BETTER PEOPLE FOR HAVING KNOWN HIM......MAYBE THAT IS ETERNITY!

The contributions that Cici Adam made to the Serbs in this country and Canada are immeasurable. We will treasure his love that he gave unconditionally to all of his family, and the wonderful memories that we have of him. He led us in song after weddings and after funerals. I think he would be happy knowing that this tradition will continue, just as we sang for him these past two days. What would we have done if we did not have our music and songs to comfort us. Just looking around the church during the funeral at the family proved that the lessons of life that Baba and Deda taught their ten children, will continue through all of ours.

He was a genius; he was humble; he was an exacting taskmaster; he was kind; he was loveable. He was my uncle and I remember so many great times singing under his direction in his Sloboda choir (it was HIS choir for 60 years). As a child, memories of singing around the piano, fun with him on family outings at the zoo and his wacky sense of humor. And the time after his brother Marco died and we were both at the wake of another dear family friend when we held each other's hand in a grip that defined our grief. Loved him A WHOLE LOT!

The world lacks enough accolades to bestow on this magnificent man. He was truly a genius. His great love of family, choral and tambura music will live on the hearts and minds of Serbians and other cultural groups for years to come. May he rest in eternal peace.
