A Memorial Service for Alice Brokopp, 90, will be held at the Brusie Funeral Home on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. She went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 19, 2009, after a short time under hospice care for cancer.

She was born in North Dakota to Charles and Emma Sherman on September 18, 1919 and at the age of ten moved to southern California. In 1935 Alice received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. In the late thirties she married Rollin Forsyth and they had two children, Elton and Lucinda. During WWII she worked for Pacific Bell Telephone to help with the war effort. She later retired from the phone company after twenty-nine years. In 1959 she married Gordon Brokopp. After retirement they moved to Chico in 1988, and enjoyed traveling around the United States and Canada. Members of the Chico Gospel Hall, they enjoyed meeting with other Christians they met in their travels. They made many friends in their travels and their home was always open to any friends passing through Chico.

Her husband Gordon preceded her in death in 2003.

She is survived by her son, Elton (Nola) Forsyth; her daughter, Lucinda Kramer preceded her in death and Lucinda's husband, Roy has been like a second son to Alice. A step-daughter, Lois (Tom) Hempill of Mississippi. She has four grandchildren, Frank (Chris) Forsyth, Greg (Debbie) Kramer, Kris Kramer, and Shelly (Kevin) Dunn; six great-grandchildren, Justin Kramer, Clayton Rippey, Kendra Rippey, Corey Dunn, Megan Dunn and Parker Forsyth. Her sister Emaline Shoden of Roseville, CA is her only surviving sibling.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Brusie Funeral Home.
