1919 - 2011 Obituary Condolences

Alma passed away Monday, April 4, 2011, at a local hospital. She was born November 30, 1919 to George and Estella Crawford in Eckley, CO.

At an early age her family moved to Oakdale, CA. She later moved to Sacramento, where she started her nursing training. It was here that she met Wilbur "Buck" Meinberg. They were married a short time later and moved to Chico, CA.

Alma worked various places, including Osers Department Store and Beverly Manor. In the late 1960's, she received her Licensed Vocational Nursing Degree. Later, she attended Napa College and received her Registered Nursing Degree. Alma worked at Enloe Hospital for many years (this was her second love).

She also enjoyed spending time on the family Almond Ranch and she was involved with the Gleaners. She enjoyed fishing, traveling in the fifth wheel and cruises, and enjoyed collecting shells and driftwood on beaches. She enjoyed spending time with her family (this was her first love).

She is predeceased by her husband, Wilbur in 1994, and a son, Chuck in November 2010. She is survived by two sons, David (Pat) Meinberg and Dennis (Sharon) Meinberg; a daughter-in-law, Karin Meinberg; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 3-5 p.m. at Newton-Bracewell Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2011 at Glen Oaks Memorial Park.
