ALTHEA IRENE MISER

She was born Althea Irene Widman in Pierre South Dakota, June 6, 1916. She migrated with her Scandinavian family to Alberta, Canada and then to the Modesto area of California.

In 1936, while working as a ranch cook in Lodi, her brother, Cecil introduced her to her husband, Cedell C. Miser. They moved to Glendale, California. She became a cosmetologist and had her own beauty shop while her husband served in the Navy during World War II. She volunteered for the March of Dimes and served as a Girl Scout leader. She was a very staunch supporter of all the activities of her girls. In later years she worked with her husband in the Real Estate business in Glendale. In the seventies they retired to Paradise, CA. They have resided in Chico for the past 10 years.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Cedell C. Miser; her daughter and her husband, Luana and Don Pride of Chico, her daughter and her husband, Lori and Jeff Powell of Napa; two granddaughters and their husbands, Shauna and Mark Mattis of Manhattan Beach, Tonya and Richard Powell of Chico; and 5 great-grandchildren who called her GiGi, Samantha, Collin and William Mattis and Brendon and Hailee Powell.

She was a beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
