We will all miss you Toni! I met Toni through James Snidle of James Snidle Fine Arts and Antiques around 1989. I spent a lot of time visiting with her at Jimmy's antique shop and at her shops, as well as at Jimmy's Art receptions where she acted as hostess. I eventually painted large advertising signage for Toni's business, Carnaby Street, both in Chico on Park Avenue, and in Paradise on the Skyway. We shared a lot of our history with one another and were friends for almost two decades. Toni was fun to be with, and she always made me laugh. She always took care of stray cats as well as all her own cats and a couple of dogs at home. I really got a laugh one day when I was over to her and Jim Knaver's home in Chico. I walked into the living room which was very dark, and I had to blink a few times unsure of what I was seeing. What I was looking at were six or seven pairs of glowing eyes staring at me from the blackness of the room. I stood there trying to make sense of what I was seeing. I soon realized that all the eyes had heads but no bodies. They were cats totally wrapped up tight in towels with only their heads sticking out, and they were evenly spaced around the room. Each cat-mummy was in their own spot, such as on top of tables, chairs, couches, etc. Toni told me that she would put bath towels in the clothes dryer to get them warm and then wrap each cat tightly for their afternoon nap in their chosen spot, and that they liked it. She went all out for her animal friends (I never got treatment like that -- oh, well). The memory is a good one though. Toni also helped the people in the community that were in need of a place to visit or a friend to chat with, I being one myself. Goodbye, sweet Toni, I will never forget you. Your friend, Arthur Lemner

Anna was the love of my cousin Jimmys life, which means she had to be a very intelligent and loving person. Hopefully Jim will find comfort in his loss, with the grace of God!
