ANNA MAXINE RUPERT

Anna Maxine Rupert, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on August 2, 2009 at the age of 79 in Chico, CA. She was born on March 16, 1930 in Foster, PA to Mary-Catherine Sullivan and Alonzo Rupert.

The majority of her working life was spent in the food service industry. She was a gifted and superb cook, and she will be remembered by friends and family for all the delicious meals she served. She had a strong faith in God, and she loved talking about angels. Her angel figurines that she collected are a cherished treasure that she left behind for her family. She loved reading Danielle Steele books and it became a tradition every Christmas to buy her the latest book in the series. Her favorite authors also included James Patterson and Barbara Johnson. We tried but couldn't keep up with her demand for new books to read because she loved reading so much. She could read a 300 page book in 2 days! She was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a foster grandparent at Chico Christian School and she attended the Peg Taylor Center. The kids that she worked with at Chico Christian School knew her as "Grandma Anna" and she loved working with them and helping them learn to read. She loved taking care of her family. She cooked hundreds of meals, cleaned house, washed laundry, and countless other chores for years. She had the gift of being a caregiver to others, especially her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Vera Dye; granddaughter, Melissa Antonowich; and great-granddaughter, Emily Antonowich. In addition, there are many family members in Pittsburgh, PA who loved her very much and will miss her.

Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Services are through Newton Bracewell, go online to nbcfh.com to view obituary and send condolences to the family.

She was loved by so many and will be missed by us all.
