ARNOLD "MAC" MCCLURE VAN DYKE, SR.

Mac died October 8, 2008 in Chico, CA. He was born in Harrison County, Missouri, April 2, 1925.

He loved hunting and camping. He would spend time playing card games or if there was a pool table around you would find him there and many summer nights were not complete without a game of croquet. He was a member of the local Chico Elks Lodge and also was the owner of Van Dyke Plumbing for many years.

He is survived by daughter, Sandra and Tom Rosa; son, Arnold and Stephanie Van Dyke; daughter, Pamela and Bill Cofer; favorite son, Dennis Van Dyke; next favorite son, Daniel Van Dyke; daughter, Tambra Van Dyke; daughter-in-law, Rosie Van Dyke; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, survived by sister, Joanne and Jim Kern and numerous nieces and nephews and Dennis and Ronnie's cuties Marsha, Charlie, and Vincent. Mac was preceded by his wife, Barbara Irene Van Dyke; daughter, Debrah; brothers, Hershel, Randall, Burnell and sister, Celeste.

The service will be held at Newton-Bracewell Funeral Homes at 11:00 a.m. October 11, 2008. The viewing will be held at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2008. You may share your thoughts and memories of Arnold online at nbcfh.com.

He influenced many through his kindness, selfless actions, wisdom, wit and subtle compassion. Never would he allow a friend or relative be without food, clothing, nor shelter.
