Beverly Gilmore Obituary

BEVERLY JEAN GILMORE May 3, 1949 - August 5, 2014 Beverly Jean Gilmore, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend, died August 5th at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, Calif., after suffering a brain hemorrhage. She was 65. Beverly was born May 3, 1949 in Kirksville, Mo. to Dale and Jean Cribb. She grew up with her younger sister, Joyce, on the family farm near Paul, Idaho. After graduating as valedictorian at Minico High School, Beverly attended the University of Hawaii, where she graduated with a degree in chemistry. She retired as the CEO of West Hills Hospital in 2012 where she was instrumental in bringing the world-renowned Grossman Burn Center to the community. While Beverly enjoyed her professional success, she was always happiest with a grandchild on her lap, reading a book. In retirement, she enjoyed her dream beach house with her husband, best friend and partner of 25 years, Kenneth Gilmore as well as travelling the world, rooting for her beloved Dallas Cowboys and cheering on her favorite Indy and Nascar drivers. Beverly is survived by her husband Kenneth Gilmore of Oxnard, Calif.; mother Jean Cribb of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter Amy Besler (Cody), of Colfax; son Aaron Selbig (Nova Stubbs), of Interlochen, Mich.; step-daughter Sandy Kern (Jim) of Rocklin; step-daughter Teri Ernandes (Joe) of Chico; step-son Joe Gilmore (Heidi) of Orland; and 10 grandchildren. Memorial donations in Beverly's name can be made to the Dr. Richard Grossman Community Foundation (www.drgcf.org), Special Olympics (www.specialolympics.org) or the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (www.curethekids.org).
