BEVERLY M. CRABTREE Beverly Marie Crabtree was born Beverly Marie Wallis in Oroville on December 13, 1928 and passed away in Oroville on April 24, 2013. she was an Oroville resident for most of those years. Beverly Crabtree leaves behind her daughter, Cherylene Titus of Gold Beach, Oregon ans son, David Crabtree of Oroville, sister Joyce Plowden of Tacoma, WA, as well as five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her brother Berton Wallis, sister Donna Wallis and five days before her passing, husband James. She graduated Oroville High School, with a four-year perfect attendance record, was active in several sports and played clarinet in the band. Beverly also graduated from Butte College. As a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, Founded in 1945, she held many responsi-bilities through the years. She acted as treasurer, historian, Sunday school teacher Sunbeam Band leader, choir director, choir member and sang many solos, duets and trios during worship service. A trained singer, Beverly was an active member of the Sweet Adelines chorus group and performed with them for several years. An artistic cake decorator, Beverly loved to make special birthday cakes for the children of the church and for countless other celebrations. She was also an accomplished pianist. Beverly was employed by Bank of America, Oroville Title Company and for 21 years was Auditor Accountant for the Butte County Public Guardian's office. After her husband James and her church, Beverly loved most to travel. She made many journeys to places all over the world, passing through the Panama Canal twice and spent several months touring America with her husband after they both retired. Services for Beverly were held on April 26 at Grace Baptist Church in a joint memorial with her husband, James David Crabtree who passed away on April 19, 2013. They would have been married sixty years on May 17. She is interred at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville. Her beauty, smile and selfless countenance will be greatly missed by friends and family.
