Obituary Condolences


Calvin L. "Cal" West, 71 of Moore Twp., formerly of Harrisburg and Succasunna, NJ passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at home.

Born January 5, 1937 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of Dorothy (Cordeiros) West of Oroville, CA and the late Calvin Hunter West.

He served in the Army and Army Reserve. Cal was an automotive engineer at the Rolles Royce Corporation. He never slowed down after retiring, instead channeling his energy into carpentry, woodworking, and physical fitness. Cal remained vital and believed in the quality over quantity in all things in life. He took great joy and pride in helping others. Cal had a special relationship with all those he touched. His friends, neighbors; especially his devoted family are forever grateful for the many things he taught and did for them and the time spent with him that improved the quality of their lives and showed his care and love.

In addition to his mother, Dorothy he is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Ann Gilmore with whom he shared 45 years of marriage; two sons, Len Mathew and Terry and his wife, Lori; a daughter, Cindy Chapkovich and her husband, Steve; four grandchildren, Stephen, Danielle, T.J., and Kara, and many friends and neighbors who all mourn his sudden passing.

Military Funeral Services: 6:00 p.m., Friday April 11, 2008 in the Geo.G.Bensing Funeral Home, Inc., 2165 Community Dr., Route 946 Village of Moorestown-Bath, PA. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
