CHARLES "CHUCK" ALFRED CARLSON Charles "Chuck" Alfred Carlson of Paradise went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Nov. 15, 2013, at age 93. He was born the late Charles and Emily Carlson. He had an older brother, Roy, and an older sister, Florence. He is survived by his second wife Jean Clanton, two daughters, Barbara Springer, Charlotte Stevens, and two sons, Wayne and Bill, eleven grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Patty, his fifth child, died in 1995. Their mother Lovene McNew, his first wife (56 years), died in 1997. Chuck was a self-taught aerospace engineer and a Minister of Music in churches in Englewood, IN, Inglewood, CA, Long Beach, CA, and Huntington Beach. He had a Masters of Music from Butler University. During WWII he was a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. He took his family to church regularly. He loved, encouraged, and trained his family to work hard. Chuck was hard working, reserved, trustworthy and persistent. His greatest desire was to serve the Jesus. He devoted many hours to an in depth study of the Scriptures. During his retirement years he wrote two books, (God's Plan And Purpose Through The Ages As Revealed My His Holy Word And Church Music, Past, Present And Future) several Bible analyses, and created and performed with electronic puppets to the delight of kids and adults.
