Charles Pulliam Obituary
CHARLES PULLIAM A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at Chuck's house on Saturday, January 25, 2014. He passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013. Chuck was born February 4, 1944 to Charles and Crystal Pulliam in Alameda, CA. After graduating from Chico High School he had a milk route with Crystal Cream and Butter and also worked for his dad at Shubert's. He proudly served in the Army as an air traffic controller in Japan. Upon returning from the Army Chuck came back to the family business to help his dad make ice cream and candy while deciding what he wanted to do for a living. While working alongside his dad he soon realized that he would be continuing on the family tradition at Shubert's, one generation teaching the next the trade. He maintained and grew the business for the next 47 years during which he taught the trade to his son and daughter so they could continue the family tradition. If Chuck wasn't at the shop working you could find him enjoying time with his wife Kay (deceased) in their beautiful backyard where they loved to garden and work on projects together. Most recently his love of motorcycles was re-ignited by enjoying several rides all over Butte County with his son Nate and playing with his grandkids. He is survived by his son Nathan Pulliam; daughter, Kasey Pulliam-Reynolds and son- in -law Mike Reynolds; grandchildren, Madison Kay and Cash John Cowan all of Chico; Jim Pulliam and family; Cindy Pulliam-Dragovich and family; Glenn Pulliam and family and his beloved dogs Noodle and Critter! Donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the Brusie Funeral Home.
