Obituary Condolences

Christina Leen-Foster was born in Chico on Dec. 8, 1983.  She passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 12, 2008 surrounded by family and close friends.

Christina was always a bubbly, happy, excited girl, full of enthusiasm and love for others.  She attended Citrus Elementary, Chico  Junior, and Chico High Schools.  While a student in high school, she excelled in academics as well as playing on soccer teams and running hurdles for the track teams.  For ten years Christina raised sheep as part of the Shasta 4-H Club.

Christina married the love of her life, Kerry Foster, on September 27, 2003.  She enjoyed hosting family and friends, camping, hiking, and raising their Labrador retrievers.  Christina was a fabulous cook and loved experimenting with new recipes.  She was attending the  CSUC Chico Nursing Program when she received her first cancer diagnosis.  For three years, Christina fought valiantly against the disease and throughout the fight she never complained or felt sorry for herself.  She kept a positive and realistic attitude.  All who know her will say "Christina loved God, life, family, and friends."  She will be sorely missed.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at the Chico High School gymnasium.

Christina is survived by her husband, Kerry Foster, of Durham; her mother and father, Nels and Candy Leen, of Chico; her brother, Casey Leen of Durham, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral arrangements were made through Brusie Funeral Home.
