Claudia Sisk Jenkins Obituary
CLAUDIA SISK JENKINS Claudia Sisk Jenkins was born in Chico, October 30, 1942 to Marja (Raker) Sisk and Marcus W. Sisk. She attended Chico schools and graduated in 1960 from Chico High, where she was a cheerleader. She spent one year at UC Davis before marrying Jack Miller, father of her two sons, Tim and Andy Miller. Claudia passed away on April 25, 2015, when she and her friend and companion, Jim Glander, were struck and killed by a passing car as they walked their dog. Their passing leaves a huge void in their family and community. Claudia was her family's archivist and matriarch, following her mother Marja's passing in January. She was an active member of Native Daughters of the Golden West, Daughters of the American Revolution, Chico Elks Lodge, CHS class of 1960 reunion committee, and had previously served on the Chico Planning Commission. She was avid in her pursuit of genealogy, quilting and needlework, continuing education, hunting and fishing, and numerous other activities. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband, Harry Jenkins. She is survived by her three brothers, Marcus W. Sisk, Jr., of Bethesda, MD, David M. Sisk of Chico, and George G. Sisk of Gallatin, TN, her two sons Timothy Miller of Chico, Andrew Miller of Durham, four grandchildren Ryan, Jennifer, Benton and Cora Miller, one great -grandchild Violet Wootten, and Duke the dog. Claudia's radiant smile, happy disposition, generosity and unconditional love will be sorely missed by her many relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday May 22, at Chico Elks Lodge. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home.
