Cleo Flores passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, July, 18, 2008 at the age of 94 in Chico. She was born in Kearns, Colorado on April 25, 1914.

She attended and graduated from Catholic Schools. After school, she worked in the Government Sanitarium and Indian reservation in Dula, New Mexico.

In Lumberton, New Mexico, she met and married Solomon Flores on November 12, 1934 and started a family. In 1942, a job opportunity brought them to Durham and in 1952 they moved to Chico where they raised 7 children.

Her pride and joy was her pink kitchen where she loved cooking and baking for her family and friends and anyone who needed a good meal. She loved working in her flower gardens to get away from her loving children. Cleo was a house cleaner and a medical immigration translator for 20 years They enjoyed their retirement years summering at Eagle Lake.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Solomon of 58 years and a son, Sol Jr.

Loving mother of Louis Flores, Delia Haines ,Priscilla Hill, Charlene (Mark) Donner, Maria Lewis, Richard Flores. 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Brusie Funeral Home. A viewing will be held for Cleo on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Cleo will be laid to rest at Glen Oaks Memorial Park.
