CONNIE GOLDSBERRY HALLEY On Friday, December 21, 2012, Connie Goldsberry Halley was called Home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Despite having cancer she went home peacefully. She was born June 3, 1946 in Monterey Park, in Southern California, to parents, Harry Alfred Spence and Virginia Maddocks Spence. She has lived in Chico, CA for the past 38 years. She was married to Lon W. Halley but also had a 35 year marriage with her late husband, Ken Goldsberry. Her husband, Lon Halley loves her dearly with an unconditional love and will miss her tremendously. She gave him the gift of knowing he was loved by her. She was a beautiful and loving wife. She is survived by three nieces, Nancy Gibson, Suzy Roberts, and Connie Crabbe; a brother-in-law, Richard Simonds; and sister-in-law, Alice Musselman. She cared for them greatly. She had many long-term friends, included but not limited to, Carrie Asosi, Nancy Hernandez, Terree McNary, Chris Sherrill, Jeanne Rawlings, Christy Stevenson, Arlea Wilson and especially, Bob and Sandy Minton. She loved them dearly. Connie served in the legal profession as a Civil Litigation Legal Assistant for 25 years in Chico, CA. She graduated from high school and then attended college at San Antonio College (Mt Sac). If you wanted something done right you went to Connie. Connie was always adorned with that beautiful engaging smile. People loved to interact with her, especially one on one. Connie sought to grow in her relationship with God, a simple growing faith. Honoring her request, her "cremains" will be scattered over the bay near the San Francisco Bridge just as her sister, Arlene Spence's had been. A special thank you to Butte Home Health & Hospice for helping ease the pain of cancer and providing caring services in making the transition in Connie's life. A memorial service, celebrating her life, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church, where she was a long time member. Memorial Contributions in Connie's name can be sent to Grace Community Church, in care of the funeral home.
