DAN L. LONG April 2, 1934-Jan. 22, 2018 After a long hard battle with both cancer and Parkinson's Disease, Dan died peacefully at Keystone Villa in Douglassville, PA with his family and friends at his bedside. Born Lee Daniel Wilson to Rena and Howard Wilson in Oroville, CA. He was raised in a true blended family with his mother and step father, Trevor Johnson Long, Sr., brothers and sisters Trevor, Kay, Ray, Bill, Alis, Dan, Mary and Nancy. Dan enlisted in the Navy in 1951 served in the Korean War with many hometown boys. Dan married Jean Beall in 1957 and shared 38 years of marriage before she passed away in 1995. Dan started his career at Morrison-Knudson spending 13 years in construction in various locations; The last 25 years he worked for Bechtel Corporation retiring in 1995. Dan leaves behind 4 daughters and their families: Mary Lou Kearns, and husband Thomas N Kearns, MD, Children Jason and wife Gerri of North East, MD and Lucas and wife Greta of New Port, NC, great grandchildren Tyler, Neel, and Noah. Renita Warren and husband Terry of Orangevale, CA, children Danie'l, Charlana and husband Jon Brown, Kylie and great grandchildren Zenovio, Charles and Jayden. Debra Hanks of Waxhaw, NC and children Lee Hanks and wife Erica of Charlotte, NC, Daniel and wife Brianna of Fort Mill, NC, and Amanda and husband Alex Shaw of Charlotte, NC and great grandchildren Madison, Cameron, Benjamin, Ashlee, Rylee, and Max. Dana LeCoure wife of Duane of Birdsboro, PA, and son Joshua and wife Suzzane of Summerville, SC and great grandchildren Timothy and Nathan. Dan also leaves behind two siblings Mary Andrews wife of Elton of Chico, CA and Nancy Gardner wife of Dick of Glenbrook, NV. Dan was predeceased by his wife, siblings Trevor, Ray, Bill, Kay, Alis and grandson Jonathan LeCoure. Dan was an avid golfer and was always the life of the party. Dan wrote and self published his life's story, "Friends for Life, Remembering" in 2011. At his request Dan's body will be donated for Parkinson's Research. A Celebration of Life will be held in his hometown of Oroville, CA at Oroville Table Mt. Golf Course, 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 7th. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's Memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 555 Croton Road, Suite 111, King of Prussia, PA 19406
