Dominick Squillace Obituary
DOMINICK SQUILLACE Dominick Squillace passed away at his Chico home on Sunday, 9-6-2015. He was born 2-2-1922 in Rome N.Y. He attended Rome Free Academy School and graduated in 1940. Dominick joined the United States Navy in 1942 where he worked as a Metal Smith and served in Europe during the war. He was assigned to Sicily, Naples, and Tunis. He was discharged in 1945 with a rank of First Class. He moved to Chico, California to join his brother Tony and worked for him as a cook in Tony's Italian Restaurant, until he was able to buy a service station at 5th and Main in Chico. He ran the service station until he went to work for the Postal Service from which he retired in 1982. He loved Eagle Lake and spent many a summer there after retirement. In his last few years he volunteered for Passages as a Foster Grand Parent at John McManus School. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine and his son, Wayne. He is survived by his niece Maria Reynolds; nephew Rocco Iannone and Lorraine's sister Jenny Witucki; niece Trina King, and grandchildren, Jessica Davidson and Jeff Rickard, and other family members on Loraine's side. At his request, no formal services will be held; Dominick will be interned at Glen Oaks with his brother Frank. Family requests donation can be made to The Salvation Army, Passages, or . Arrangements entrusted to the Neptune Society of No CA, Chico Branch.
