Obituary Condolences


Don Niles passed away peacefully on August 25, 2008, at the age of 79. He was a 1947 graduate of San Ramon High School and long time resident of Danville. He was the founder of Payless Paint Center, later to become Crown Paint Center over a span of 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Jane; his stepson, Will Russell and stepdaughter, Carol Guzman. He leaves a sister, Kathleen Johnson of Shenandoah Valley; a son, Rocky Niles and his partner, Linda of Chico and granddaughters, Dione Belli and husband John, Nichole and Amber Niles, Andrea Moreno and Mollie Russell; a grandson, Luke Niles; great-grand children, Gianna Belli, Nico, Angeliqe, Angelina and Chionna Moreno; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Helen Cook of Paradise and numerous nieces and nephews and his cat, Boo.

He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Reckless Drivers Golf Club. His true passion was his race horses which he was a longtime breeder and owner. He was proud to be a member of the California Thoroughbred Breeders Assoc. for over 40 years. He loved his trips to the barn to watch his horses work and will miss all of his friends at the Pleasanton Satellite and trips to Chowchilla to see his foals.
