1932 - 2011 Obituary Condolences

Chico and former Gridley resident, Dorothy June Warner, died on October 22, 2011, at her daughter's home in Orland.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Osborne's home, 180 Second Avenue in Orland.

Dorothy was born on June 1, 1932 in Colusa, CA to Kenneth and Margaret Duncan. She was a 1950 graduate of Chico High School. Dorothy resided in Gridley from 1959 until the late 1970's and while in Gridley she worked as a bookkeeper at Spruce Drug, Gridley Presbyterian Church and Gridley High School. She was a Girl Scout leader and an active member of the Gridley Presbyterian Church. Upon returning to Chico, Dorothy worked at CSU, Chico-Associated Students as a Payroll Supervisor.

Dorothy's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She had a wide-range of interests and enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing, woodworking, swimming, bowling, cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Warner in 1976. She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Osborne (Don) of Orland, Blake Warner (Joyce Ehrenberg) of Glendora, CA, and Susan Fuller (Brad) of South Pasadena; two brothers, Richard "Dick" Duncan of Paradise and Albert "Bud" Duncan of Chester; four grandchildren, Kelly Osborne, Megan Odom (Nate), Clair and Joshua Fuller; two great-grandchildren, Bryant and Allison Odom, and numerous nieces and nephews.
