Douglas Allen Canadas Obituary

Douglas Allen Canadas passed away on Nov. 13, 2010, while doing what he loved, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was born on Dec. 19, 1947 in Chico, CA, to Johnnie and Edythe Canadas.

He graduated from Orland High School in 1966. On July 15, 1967, he married Jeraldine (Jeri) VerValen of Corning, CA.

Doug loved agriculture and farmed with his brother on "Canadas Farms" until he established his trucking company, D & J Hauling in 1999.

Doug was a well respected businessman and leader in the community. He served as President of the Glenn Co. Farm Bureau, the Pure Seed league, the Glenn Golf & Country Club, and a member of many boards and committees. Through the years, he had many hobbies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and riding motorcycles.

Doug's legacy will live on with his beloved daughters, Nicki Pimentel and Monica Abanathie, and grandchildren, Evan and Elsa Pimentel and Jordan Abanathie. He is also survived by his loving family, including his wife, Jeri Canadas and siblings, Donald Canadas and Sheryl Imboden.

Doug enjoyed life to its fullest and will be greatly missed by all.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Gazebo at the Oddfellows Cemetery on County Road P in Orland, CA on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at 2 p.m.
