Edith Lorraine Felsenthal Obituary
EDITH LORRAINE FELSENTHAL Born in Fillmore, CA on July 9, 1922, Edith was the 2nd of Leo and Louise Harmonson's 3 daughters. Edith grew up in Fillmore, graduated from Fillmore High School in 1939, and mar-ried Richard Felsenthal on April 6, 1941. She passed peacefully into heaven on January 12, 2015. Edith & Dick raised their 4 children in Fillmore and were very active in the Presbyterian Church, as well as community activities. They moved to Ventura in 1975, where they spent the next 12 years enjoying their beachfront home. While living there they attend-ed the Ventura Mission-ary Church. During 1987 & 88, Edith and Dick traveled throughout the U.S., living in their 5th wheel trailer, and eventually settled in Chico in 1989. Once again, they became active in church activities. Edith was a homemaker most of her life and was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family's needs above her own. Music was always an important part of Edith's life and she enjoyed playing piano and singing in church choirs, both in Fillmore and in Ventura. Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, and by her sister Inez Keller. She is survived by one sister, Ruth Keller of Somis, CA, and by her 4 children: Cheryl Harper (Steve) of Ohio; Donna Carter (Tom) of Chico; Janet Fairbanks (Wayne) of British Columbia; and Allen Felsenthal (Jenny) of Redding. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 19 great grand-children. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Butte Bible Fellowship on Pillsbury Road. She will be laid to rest in Bardsdale Cemetery in Fillmore, CA. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Townsend House for the wonderful, loving care she received during the last 3 years of her life.
