Born Edith Mae Pryor in Nelson CA on January 27th, 1921, to Ruby and John Pryor, she grew up with two older brothers (since deceased), William Pryor and Charles "Chick" Pryor and all three siblings lived in and around Chico their entire lives raising their own families close to one another. Edith married Elmer "Shorty" Leroy Harris and had two children, Eldon "Red" Leroy Harris and Judy Arlene Harris and one step daughter Patricia Harris. Edith lost her husband Shorty at the age of 36, and her son Red at 42. In 1967, Edith remarried Mr. Clarence Skinner and enjoyed 47 wonderful years of dancing, traveling, and loving their grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids together. She worked much of her career in downtown Chico in retail such as Hoyt's Cafe, Park Village Drug Store, and Oser's Department Store over the course of 25 years. Edith is survived by her loving husband Clarence; daughter Judy Ausland; step-children Ivy, Peggy, Nancy, Daniel, and Paul; and numerous genera-tions of grandchildren who all love her dearly. Her independent spirit, giving heart, out-spoken nature, and red hair will be missed by all. To view obituary or send condolences to the family, go online to NewtonBracewell.com
