Edward Burner Obituary
EDWARD BURNER Edward Michael Burner was born February 6th, 1961 in Bakersfield, California to Sue Burner and Edsel Burner. He passed away at his home in Bayview, Idaho on August 22nd, 2012. He graduated in 1979 from West High School in Bakersfield where he excelled in baseball. He joined the Marine Corps in 1980 and was honorably discharged in 1986. In April, 1982 he married his high school sweetheart, Betsy Barstow; they celebrated their 30-year anniversary this year. Eddie worked in high steel construction for Rackley Company in Chico and after an injury he went to Butte College to become a certified special inspector (Reinforced concrete, structural masonry, and structural steel and welding). He obtained an A.W.S. welding certification as an inspector which allowed him to work on major projects like the "Free Willy" aquarium tank in Newport, OR. At different times in his life he had licenses in California real estate, insurance, and a federal firearms license. He worked for Aerojet in Sacramento in the rocket division and later worked for Bechtel Construction as a quality control inspector at the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Michigan. Eddie was well known by his friends and family for his big laugh and crazy sense of humor. He loved to cook and create his own recipes, every one of them being out of this world delicious. Altogether he was an awesome, kind-hearted teddy bear that everyone just wanted to reach out and hug. Eddie will be dearly missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his mother Sue Burner (Bakersfield, CA); his wife Elizabeth (Betsy) Burner (Bayview, Id); his son E.G. Burner and wife Tiffany (Eugene, OR) and their children Sevyn, Grey and Lyric Burner; his daughter Kaitlin Burner and her children Caleb and Brody; his daughter Laura and husband Caleb Ohland and their son, Jaxon, (Coeur d'Alene, ID); his sister, Stacy Thompson, and her children, Trent, Lindsey, and Jacob (Bakersfield, CA); his father and mother-in-law George and Gail Barstow (Chico, CA); his brother and sister-in-law Jason and Gina Barstow (Chico, CA) and their children Blake, McKenzie and Ayden. He was predeceased by his father Edsel Burner and grandson Connor Rhoades. Services will be held on Saturday, September 8th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home.
