Elizabeth Marie Wilson Obituary
ELIZABETH MARIE WILSON Betty will be remembered by the smile she wore, the compassion she expressed and the kindness she passed onto everyone that knew her. At 91, she left this world on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 to be with her Loving Father GOD, Precious Savior, and Spirit of Truth. She was a loving and competent mother, wonderful friend, and companion/partner with her husband Franklin for over 63 years. She will be missed by her family and surviving friends. Born February 26, 1926 in Los,Angeles, Elizabeth Marie Rogers was a twin with her sister Eleanor, and they had an older brother named Jack. She was the daughter of Florence Cleveland Rogers and J. Harold Rogers. Betty first attended Marvin Ave. grade school in Los Angeles where she remembers one of the stars from the Little Rascals, the character 'Alfalfa', riding his bike past all the kids as the others walked to school. She attended Louis Pasteur Jr. High and was very social in her church, community, and school through graduation from Hamilton High School. Out of high school and during WWII, she went to work as a key punch operator. She developed quite an adventurous spirit which continued through her life and into retirement. As a young woman, she was invited and chose to go on a blind date picnic from LA to Santa Barbara. This is when she met the love of her life, Franklin Leonard Wilson. They married on September 17, 1948 and enjoyed three children soon afterwards, her marriage continued up until Franklin passed away in 2011. She is survived by son Richard (Irvine), daughter Susan (Paso Robles), son-in-law Phillip, grandchildren Genesea Carter, Kelsea Carter, and Raleigh Carter. Robert, her youngest son, unexpectedly passed away from an automobile accident in 1982. Betty had a strong faith and was spiritually active through her life at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and Ascension Lutheran Church, both in L.A. In 1964 the family moved to Newport Beach and attended Newport Harbor Lutheran Church. When the family moved to Lake Forest they were very active with Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in El Toro. At Abiding Savior she supported and worked tirelessly with the Braille Institute for many years. In 1991 Betty and Frank moved to Tehama California and became members at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Corning. Betty was outgoing and a very giving person. When she moved to Tehama she was active with the community and the Tehama Museum as a docent. Betty was diagnosed in 2002 and was a firsthand participant in the debilitating experience of Dementia. It progressed for her into Alzheimers Disease which is difficult for all that experience it and their families. She is now interned next to her husband Frank at the Tehama Cemetery in Gerber, CA 96035 Donations can be made in the name of ELIZABETH MARIE WILSON to the UC Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders - (UCI MIND) Contact Linda Scheck, Director of Development and Donor Stewardship.
