Erick Stanley Oman, born on July 17, 1991, passed away in Chico on March 9, 2012, from injuries stemming from an epileptic seizure. He was 20 years old.

Erick was a long-time active member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he learned how to live his earthly life and that death is not the end. He was also active in Boy Scout Troop 2. Thanks to his many scout experiences he was able to live his short life to the fullest.

At the time of his death Erick was attending Butte College.

Erick had a love of learning. His interests were many, including computers, anime, on line gaming, camping, swimming, gold mining with his father and Boy Scouting. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in July 2009 and was a Brotherhood member of Amangi Nacha Lodge, Order of the Arrow.

Erick is survived by his parents, Nick Oman and Lori Briggs; sister, Audri Oman; grandmother, Yolanda Oman, all of Chico; grandparents, Patrick and Mardi (Haley) Briggs of Tehachapi, CA, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Stanley Oman in 2009.

Erick's family and friends wish to thank the firemen and paramedics for their heroic efforts to save Erick's life. Many thanks also to the Enloe Hospital doctors, nurses and counselors.

Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 667 East First Avenue, Chico on Saturday, March 17th at 3:00 p.m.
